Easy and Beautiful Hikes and Trails in Vancouver for Tourists 

Hiking is a great way to experience the natural beauty of Vancouver, and there are many easy hiking options available for tourists who want to explore the outdoors. Whether you're traveling alone or with your family, there's a hiking trail that's right for you.  

Here are some of the best easy hikes and trails in Vancouver that tourists would enjoy. 

 

Quarry Rock 

Quarry Rock

Located in North Vancouver, Quarry Rock is a popular hike amongst locals that offers breath-taking views of Indian Arm and Deep Cove. The trail is relatively easy, and the distance is 3.8km round trip. It’s suitable for most skill levels, featuring well-maintained paths and wooden footbridges and takes visitors through lush forests before arriving at a rocky outcrop that offers amazing views of the surrounding area.

Lynn Canyon Park

Lynn Canyon Park is a beautiful natural park that is located in North Vancouver, just a short drive from downtown Vancouver. This park offers various trails that cater to different skill levels. The Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge is a highlight, and the trails are surrounded by lush forests and beautiful scenery. The Twin Falls Loop is a particularly easy and popular hike, which takes visitors past two beautiful waterfalls in just 1.5 kilometres.

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

While not a traditional hiking trail, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park offers a beautiful walk through the treetops of a temperate rainforest. The park has several walking paths and suspension bridges that provide stunning views of the forest and Capilano River. The Treetops Adventure is a popular attraction that allows visitors to walk among the trees on a series of suspended walkways, while the Cliffwalk offers a thrilling experience as visitors walk along a narrow walkway that juts out from the cliff face.

Pacific Spirit Regional Park

Located in the heart of Vancouver near University of British Columbia, Pacific Spirit Regional Park provides over 73 km of walking trails that wind through a beautiful, forested area. The park offers several easy hikes that are perfect for tourists who want to experience the natural beauty of Vancouver. Easily accessible by public transit or car, with several parking lots located throughout the park, the park offers a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The park is also a popular destination for birdwatchers.

Burnaby Mountain

Just outside of Vancouver, Burnaby Mountain offers several easy to moderate hiking trails that wind through forests, parks, and other natural areas, providing visitors with stunning views of the surrounding city and mountains. Many often come here to watch the sunset. The hike to the top of the mountain is only about 3km round trip. The mountain is easily accessible by public transit or car, with several parking lots located throughout the mountain, making it a convenient option for tourists looking for an easy hike.

Whytecliff Park

Whytecliff Park, located on the beautiful West Vancouver shoreline, offers several easy hiking trails that are perfect for nature lovers. The park's rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, and abundant tide pools provide stunning views of the ocean and nearby islands, making it a great spot to explore. With convenient access by car or public transit, and multiple parking lots available, it's an ideal destination for tourists seeking an outdoor adventure.

Lighthouse Park

Located in West Vancouver, Lighthouse Park offers several easy hiking trails that wind through a beautiful old-growth forest, providing visitors with stunning views of the ocean and mountains. The most popular trail is the Beacon Lane Trail, which is a 2-kilometer loop that takes you through the forest to the park's historic lighthouse. The trails are mostly flat, but there are some stairs and rocky sections, so it's recommended to wear sturdy shoes. Other easy hikes in the park include the Arbutus Trail and the Valley Trail. The park offers several flat hiking trails that are suitable for all skill levels, including the popular Lakeside Trail, which is a 5-kilometer loop around the lake with scenic views of the water and surrounding mountains. The park also offers many other activities for visitors and it is home to several cultural attractions, including the Burnaby Art Gallery and the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.  The park also has picnic areas, playgrounds, and a boathouse where visitors can rent canoes or kayaks.

Bridal Veil Falls

Located in Chilliwack, about a 90-minute drive from Vancouver, Bridal Veil Falls in Bridal Falls Provincial Park is a great destination for tourists looking for an easy hike near Vancouver. The park offers several easy hiking trails, including the popular Bridal Veil Falls Trail, which is a 1.5-kilometer hike that takes you to the base of the waterfall. The trail is mostly flat and well-maintained, making it an easy hike for families and visitors of all ages. At the end of the trail, you'll find Bridal Veil Falls, a beautiful waterfall that drops 60 meters into a crystal-clear pool below.
